Sunday shows preview: Deadly plane crashes rattle nation; Trump tariff threats set to become reality

This week the nation mourned the deadly plane crash near Reagan National Airport followed by a fatal Philadelphia flight, while leaders debated over the accidents’ causes and rapid response measures, which urged Democrats and Republicans to clash heads.

Senate confirmation hearings churned out uncertainty as nominees begrudgingly answered lawmakers probing questions, and President Trump’s tariff deadline held firm, signaling an encroaching line on foreign leader’s sanctity.

Vice President JD Vance will likely address these qualms with the country during an appearance on Sunday Morning Futures. Vance will be a front-facing voice for the Trump administration after a week of devastation over the lethal air crashes and controversy surrounding Cabinet nominees.

However, his remarks will likely come in close proximity to Trump’s towering impact on global trade with tariffs set to go into effect on Sunday. Vance may be asked to speak to the international communities response and the president’s discussions with foreign leaders.

Days after being confirmed by the Senate, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy will address the public Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

He will likely give an update on the success of recovery efforts and additional specifics regarding the ongoing investigations led by a number of agencies.

Democratic Sen. John Fetterman (Pa.) is scheduled to appear on Fox News Sunday and may address the nation’s fear amid the two flying catastrophes with fresh perspectives from the Senate Transportation Committee.

The Pennsylvania Senator has remained level headed in surrounding chaos days before party members select a new leader all while closely monitoring confirmation hearings for agency heads.
