Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of Champions Trophy 2025, BCCI names replacement, Yashasvi Jaiswal dropped out – India TV

Jasprit Bumrah, India’s premier fast-bowler, has been ruled out of the Champions Trophy 2025, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed. Bumrah has not fully recovered from the back injury that he picked during the fifth and final Test of the Border-Gavaskar series.
The Indian Board named Harshit Rana as Bumrah’s replacement for the Champions Trophy. “Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy due to a lower back injury. The Men’s Selection Committee has named Harshit Rana as Bumrah’s replacement,” BCCI wrote in a statement.
Varun Chakravarthy added to India’s squad
Meanwhile, the Indian Board has added Varun Chakravarthy into the squad for the 50-over tournament. Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal has been dropped from the main squad and has been kept in the non-travelling reserves alongside Mohammed Siraj and Shivam Dube.
“Team India have also named Varun Chakaravarthy in the squad. The spinner will replace Yashasvi Jaiswal who was initially named in the provisional squad,” the Indian Board confirmed.

Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Varun Chakaravarthy.
Non Travelling substitutes: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Siraj and Shivam Dube. The three players will travel to Dubai as and when required.
