Live coverage: RFK Jr., Gabbard hearings go on; Authorities search for Potomac crash survivors

Several of President Trump’s top allies are set to appear Thursday for high-stakes confirmation showdowns with senators amid the backdrop of a late-night midair crash between a passenger plane and Army helicopter near Washington, D.C.

Tulsi Gabbard, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Kash Patel will simultaneously appear for confirmation hearings that could make or break their chances of getting across the finish line, setting up a triple-box of events that are set to command the attention of Washington as GOP members try to keep their unblemished run of confirming Trump’s nominees.

They will be held as rescuers search for survivors of the crash near Reagan National Airport.

The flight, carrying 60 passengers and four crew members, was en route from Wichita, Kansas to Washington, D.C. It collided with an Army UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter out of Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
