Marlon Wayans slams Soulja Boy over f-word attack on his trans son

Marlon Wayans slammed Soulja Boy after the rapper used an anti-gay slur to attack him and his transgender son on social media, declaring he hasn’t “been relevant since 2007.”

Soulja, 34, posted his homophobic and transphobic message on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Wednesday, writing, “That f—-t s–t run in the family huh? @MarlonWayans no wonder u like dressing up as a bitch it’s in ur blood.”

The Chicago native accompanied his comments with screenshots from stories published in 2023, one from TMZ and one from Men’s Journal, about Wayans’ support for his transgender son.

Over 3 hours later, Wayans, 52, clapped back.

“If @souljaboy had a career he could get cancelled for this type of slander,” the “White Chicks” star wrote on X along with a screenshot of the rapper’s post. “Luckily he ain’t been relevant since 2007.”

Soulja rose to fame in ’07 with the release of his song “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” which spent 7 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100. His last Hot 100 entry, “Pretty Boy Swag,” dropped in 2010 and peaked at No. 34.

Wayans’ 2023 words of support for his trans son were pulled from an interview he did with The Breakfast Club at the time, where he discussed a comedy special he was planning connected to his son’s transition process.

“I have a daughter that transitioned into a son. My daughter Amai is now Kai,” the comedian said. “And so I talk about the transition. Not their transition, but my transition as a parent, going from ignorance and denial to complete unconditional love and acceptance. And I think there’s a lot of parents out there that need to have that message. And I’m dealing with it. It was a very painful situation for me.”

The war of words between Wayans and Soulja began before Wednesday, however, and appears to stem back to comments the “Bel-Air” actor made in January blasting the rapper for performing at one of Donald Trump’s inaugural celebrations.

Marlon unloaded on Soulja Boy, claiming he had been “canceled” and needed the gig to stay relevant.

“I mean Soulja Boy, he been canceled, nobody cares about Soulja Boy,” Wayans told 101.1 The Wiz on Jan. 24, per Vibe. “So Soulja Boy better go and get that check… He don’t care… I think they thought it was a Bitcoin event, and they found out it was a ball for him, and it was too late to pull out. But you know, that’s why you’ve got to check the fine print.”

Soulja has used anti-gay and anti-trans language in other posts aimed at Wayans, who in turn claimed the rapper looked like he abused drugs and accused him of molesting an underage male.
