Meghan Markle faces ‘make-or-break’ moment ahead of American Riviera Orchard launch
Meghan Markle is reportedly gearing up to launch American Riviera Orchard through Netflix’s first-ever retail stores as soon as next month.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, is looking at a busy 2025 with the upcoming release of her Netflix show “With Love, Meghan” on March 4.
And it appears as though the launch of her lifestyle brand — which has been plagued with a slew of trademark snafus — will coincide with the project’s release, sources told the Daily Mail.
Sources tell the outlet that the success — or failure — of her product launch in the Netflix House superstores has the power to either “make or break” her business venture.
“Her new show is rolling out the same time as the Netflix stores open,” an insider told the outlet. “The Netflix stores will offer products and merchandise from all their biggest shows like ‘Squid Game’ and ‘Stranger Things.’”
“This is a big move for Netflix. The first stores are in repurposed department stores inside two of America’s largest malls,” the source went on. “They will contain an onsite cafe so Meghan’s products like her strawberry jam will be featured on the menu too.”
“This will determine the future for Meghan as a businesswoman. Let’s face it, she hasn’t been that successful so far,” they added.
As previously revealed by Page Six, Netflix will work together with the “Suits” alum to distribute products that will tie in with her new lifestyle show.
A wide range of products, including jam, honey and olive oil, will be up for sale at two major retail stores — the King of Prussia Mall in Philadelphia and the Dallas Galleria in Texas.
Markle has already filed trademark applications for her brand to cover an array of home goods, including tableware, kitchen linens, beverageware, coffee and tea services and more.
Also listed were jellies, marmalades, fruit preserves and a variety of spreads and butters, along with body soap, body oil, cosmetics and pet shampoo.
The application also covers stationery, linens, small kitchen appliances, yoga equipment and gardening gear.
The stores — set up in repurposed department centers — will also feature an onsite café and will allow customers to sample Markle’s products prior to making a purchase.
The streamer describes Netflix House as “a year-round home for fans to live the stories they love.”
“Netflix is expanding and growing all the time and Netflix House is a natural progression,” a Netflix insider told the outlet, adding that the streaming giant hopes to open coast-to-coast stores.
As for Markle’s joint venture with Netflix, the former working royal’s show will offer viewers a “how-to guide” for entertaining, rather than honing in on specific recipes, the outlet adds.
The upcoming series will follow Markle in the kitchen with some of her famous friends, including her former “Suits” co-star Abigail Spencer, Mindy Kaling, Roy Choi and Tatcha founder Vicky Tsai.
Some of the celeb guests are pals that were lucky enough to receive a jar of Markle’s American Riviera Orchard jam last year.
“It’s a very magical and beautiful guide to hosting and entertaining rather than a how-to cookery show,” a source told the outlet.
Directed by Michael Steed, “With Love, Meghan” boasts eight episodes, each 33 minutes long. Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, 40, produced the series via their Archewell Productions company.
The mom of two finished filming the show in July.
