Netflix has set the stage for a blockbuster 2025, unveiling an ambitious slate of films, series, and games. At the company’s annual showcase, held at the historic Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles, Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria emphasised Netflix’s commitment to delivering a diverse range of entertainment, declaring, “With more than 700 million people watching, we need to be the best version of everything.”

The event featured an array of guests, including Guillermo del Toro, Ben Affleck, Tina Fey, John Mulaney, and WWE superstars CM Punk and Rhea Ripley. Simultaneously streamed across 12 countries, the presentation underscored Netflix’s global reach and ambition.

Among the most anticipated films of 2025 is Frankenstein, a long-cherished project from Academy Award-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro. Speaking about the film, del Toro described it as deeply personal, stating, “Over the decades, the character has fused with my soul in a way that it has become autobiography.”

Another major highlight is RIP, a crime thriller starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. Affleck teased that the film is “a really fun, engaging ride that keeps you guessing.” Meanwhile, comedy fans can look forward to The Four Seasons, an adaptation of the classic 1981 film, led by Tina Fey.

Netflix’s upcoming series lineup boasts several highly anticipated titles. Death by Lightning, from Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, is set to make waves alongside Zero Day, starring Robert De Niro, and Black Rabbit, featuring Jason Bateman and Jude Law. Meanwhile, The Beast in Me will showcase the talents of Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys.

The streaming giant also confirmed the return of some of its biggest hits. The final season of Squid Game will debut on June 27, while Wednesday is set to return later in the year after wrapping production. Perhaps most notably, the Duffer Brothers teased that the last season of Stranger Things will be their most ambitious yet, calling it an “intense and emotional” journey.

Netflix is also expanding its live programming, with John Mulaney’s new weekly show Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney premiering globally on March 12, and the fan-favorite TUDUM event streaming live from Los Angeles on May 31.

On the gaming front, Netflix is bringing more interactive experiences to its subscribers, including Squid Game: Unleashed, which is on track to become its most downloaded game ever. Additionally, beloved series like Ginny & Georgia and Love is Blind will inspire new gaming titles, while WWE fans can look forward to exclusive mobile versions of the WWE 2K video games.

Bajaria closed the presentation with a message that defined Netflix’s vision for the future: “We’re not just one thing. We’re the best of film, TV, documentaries, stand-up, animation, and live events.” With a lineup this bold, 2025 is shaping up to be one of Netflix’s biggest years yet.
