‘Duck Dynasty’ returning with revival series after 8 years

Nothing can break up this dynasty.

After eight years off the air, “Duck Dynasty” is returning to A&E with the new series “Duck Dynasty: The Revival.” The two-season reboot will consist of 20 one-hour episodes and is set to premiere in summer 2025.

The new series will follow Willie Robertson, wife Korie Robertson and “their growing family of adult children and grandchildren, the next generation of Robertsons living on the family homestead in Louisiana,” per the network’s press release on Wednesday. 

“With their dynasty expanding into more than just ducks,” the announcement continued. “Willie and Korie will bring their signature humor and family fun as they grapple with mapping out the future of Duck Commander, watching the kids navigate marriage, children and businesses of their own, and passing down the family legacy.”

Viewers can expect appearances by original fan favorites, including uncle Si Robertson and Miss Kay Robertson along with Willie and Korie’s kids John Luke, Sadie, Will Jr., Bella and Rebecca.

“Going back on A&E feels a little like going back home,” the couple shared in a joint statement. “We’re thankful for all who have followed along as our family has grown and expanded and can’t wait to get cameras rolling again on all our new adventures, or perhaps misadventures.”

“The Robertsons earned a seat in homes across the country with their unique brand of downhome practicality, southern charm and relatable humor,” A&E’s Executive Vice President and Head of Programming Elaine Frontain Bryant said in a statement.

“‘Duck Dynasty’ played a huge part of the success of A&E for many years, and we look forward to reuniting with the Robertsons on the revival,” she added.

Sadie took to Instagram to share her excitement over the news.

“Secret’s out! 🦆 Our family is going back home to A&E with #DuckDynasty: The Revival!” she wrote.

“It’s wild to think how much has changed, but also how much has stayed the same. New kids, new spouses, new businesses, new fun…ALL the generations and no end to the adventures (and yes, probably some misadventures too)! 😂”

The 27-year-old added she has one desire for the new series.

“Our hope is for you to watch again together as a family and pray our show brings families back around the dinner table giving thanks to God and loving one another,” she wrote. “Our prayer as a family is and always has been that we are bright lights for His Glory. We’re SO glad to be back! Stay Tuned!”

The reality show originally premiered in 2012 and aired for 11 seasons until 2017. However, the network is yet to confirm if original star and Robertson family patriarch Phil Robertson will appear on the reboot.

In 2014, his homophobic and racially insensitive comments in a GQ magazine article sparked backlash and led to a brief suspension by the network.

It was confirmed in December 2024 that Phil, 78, is battling Alzheimer’s disease.

On an episode of the “Unashamed with the Robertson Family” podcast, Phil’s son Jase, 55, said his dad is in the “early stages” of the neurogenerative condition.
